How to be a kick-ass Entrepreneur

How to be a kick-ass entrepreneur with 13 mindset habits

How to be a kick-ass entrepreneur with 13 mindset habits is something everyone can do. Being a kick-ass entrepreneur might be something you often think about. If you do, you’re in luck because I want to share 13 easy mindset habits that are helping me and many others break the chains of employment (keeping you in a life of limited financial income with an over-abundance of mediocrity and frustration) and finally free yourself – creating the life and business you love.

I’m curious… How was your morning? And how about the morning before that… and the one just before that?

The reason I’m asking is because there are tons of people out there that wake up most days to a world of stress, lack of focus, and general overwhelm. They are living paycheck to paycheck, with zero flexibility in the day, and limited free time to spend with loved ones. They are not living their passion – not doing what they love and what’s important to them.

They are not waking up early with excitement and going to bed late full of enthusiasm.  And I truly believe that how you wake up and how you go to bed is a great barometer for the level of your entrepreneur mindset habits and the resulting quality of life and happiness you have.

In fact, when you really take a step back and think about it, our entire lives are filled with a series of “mornings” that we have to wake up to and “evenings” we have to contend with lying in bed thinking about whether we are living our best life.

So I’ll ask you again… how was your morning? And how was your evening?

As part of my own personal quest to be a kick-ass entrepreneur and mission to help many others do the same… I want to make sure that you learn the easy mindset habits to be a successful entrepreneur.  Doing so you will get you up early each morning with infinite energy and passion to crush your day no matter what’s happening around you; and you will go to bed late full of happiness, enthusiasm and gratitude, because you have become the best version of you.

The 13 mindset habits of kick-ass entrepreneurs who have designed the life and business they love

Most people think successful entrepreneurs just got lucky!! What they don’t see is all the painful experiences and emotions they had to overcome: all the struggles, the daily rejection, the betrayals, the criticism, the empty bank accounts, and the lonely nights to make their vision a reality.

Successful entrepreneurs are heroes in my book. They have true grit, and are prepared to pay the price to get paid the price. They want success just as much as they want to breathe. They have the right mindset habits to be successful.

Successful entrepreneurs show up every day, they work hard every day, they hustle every day, they learn from a proven mentor every day, they improve every day, and they do this even though they felt like quitting every day, and eventually they become who they are today!!!

I have done much studying over the past few years and have come to recognize the key characteristics / habits / capacities of successful entrepreneurs. They are as follows:

1. They raise the BAR (Beliefs, Actions, Results)

Anyone who does something magnificent is someone that does something in a standard of outstanding. Achieving this standard doesn’t come from skill, it comes from heart and mindset by raising the BAR (Beliefs, Actions, Results). You need to set the bar for high for what you want, raise it to the level of a gold medal performer, and take the necessary actions every day.

2. They understand their why

There is a great quote for entrepreneurs “If you do what is easy, life will be hard…if you do what is hard life will be easy”. But in order to do what is hard on a daily basis, to fight through the challenges to achieve and experience more, you first need to understand your reason why!  And it needs to be HUGE! When you have a big enough reason why, you will be able to spend the time, even years working hard on your business dream.  If your why does not make you cry, it is not strong enough.

3. They follow their passion

Only start businesses that you are truly passionate about and that there is a market for to create wealth. Find something that will get you up early and keep you up late. If you are going to invest extra hours developing a business, invest them in something you really enjoy – that doesn’t feel like work, and you don’t need to take a vacation from. You will need to love what you are doing to have the desire to work through the onslaught of challenges.

4. They aren’t afraid to fail

Fail forward and fail fast. The more you fail, the closer you are to your goal. It’s failure that allows you to make new distinctions and recognize the next steps that are needed to be done differently to achieve goals. Remember this… if you are not achieving great failure, then you are not doing enough. Great success is only achieved by taking action, taking calculated risk – jumping out of your comfort zone daily.

5. They make decisions and act fast

There is an old saying “you were born with wings, so why do you choose to crawl through life.” There are two types of people – those that will make it happen (act fast) and those that will look for reasons not too (the crawlers). True success comes to one that chooses to make it happen, one that acts fast and takes all out massive action. No matter what you do…until someone tells you that you are crazy, you are not working hard enough and taking action fast enough.

6. They are independent thinkers

Independent thinking is such an important point that shouldn’t be overlooked. In a lot of instances successful entrepreneurs will say, whatever the masses are doing, do the opposite. They think independently and recognize and follow their gut instincts, and then they stick with it. Always seek to add value to others constantly.  If you want to set up a business to increase your income on a whole new level, you must devise a way to consistently add real value to people’s lives and you will prosper.

7. They think big

One thing successful entrepreneurs don’t do is have small impotent goals. They also don’t have a small why or a small purpose. If they set their goals too small they will achieve little things. The higher they set their goals the closer they become to being and achieving what they want. Once you know what you want and you set a goal – you will have triggered a very powerful part of your brain called the Reticular Activating System.  This part of your mind becomes like a magnet attracting information or opportunities that can help you achieve your goals more rapidly.

8. They are focused

There are so many things competing for and demanding our attention in life. If you don’t make a conscious effort to determine what is important to you, what you have passion in and where you are going to focus your time and energy, you will live consistently in reaction to the demands of the moment. It is all about focusing on things that matter and things you can control. It is all about cutting through the BS (the demands at the moment) consuming all your time and then focusing on what’s important to you.  Get good at focusing on what you want and your life will change forever!!!

9. They build strong teams

There are three types of people you need on your business team to achieve success. You need to understand your true nature/talent. You are either (1) artist/skilled producer (with a passion or extraordinary talent), (2) leader/manager (likes to provide leadership, organize people, structure, systems, maximize results) or (3) entrepreneur (risk taker, in the game for money not emotion).  Successful entrepreneurs recognize what their talents and strengths are and they develop a team to fill in the gaps.

10. They leverage their success

One of the most powerful concepts learned from successful entrepreneurs is the power of leverage. Leverage is doing more with less: using less time, effort, energy, and investment with more income, results, value and free time. A successful entrepreneur is the ultimate strategist – and maximizes his or her business by leveraging the talented individuals around them and the resources of others.

11. They love learning

Successful entrepreneurs love learning new strategies they must adopt to stay competitive. They learn about markets and customers and how to leverage and prioritize. They are big believers that success leaves clues, so they role model others. Some of the best thinking, strategizing, and actions has already been done by very successful people. If you take the same actions and plant the same seeds, you can produce the same quality of results regardless of your background, education, and capitalization (money).

12. They love teaching

Not only do successful entrepreneurs love to learn – they love to teach. All the successful entrepreneurs I have studied, that achieved all the wealth they could imagine…they all had the FEELING/EXPRESSION “is this all there is”? – meaning they were really not fulfilled by material things! They all realized that life fulfillment came from helping others achieve more!  People are looking for good leaders all the time, leaders with strength to teach and take them where they want to go. We all rise by lifting others.

13. They persist

There are no real or legal get-rich-quick opportunities. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Despite how we see stories of seemingly overnight success, progress takes time – it’s not an overnight experience. You build momentum by getting consistent results. Eventually, enough results compound into big life-changing achievements. Gradual progress yields success over time. It’s impossible to win the “Tour de France” the day you learn how to ride a bicycle.
