Muhammad Ali – Belief Made Him The Greatest

MUHAMMAD ALI…is the GREATEST boxer that’s ever been; we’ve ever seen and the greatest that ever will be…because he BELIEVED in himself!

Muhammad Ali is a role model that we can all learn from.  He achieved extraordinary results as a boxer, all because he believed he was the best there ever was.  When he spoke you could hear it in his voice that he truly believed he was and would always be the greatest boxer of all times.  Some of his beliefs that he identified with, would loudly verbalize and taunt others with, were outlandish, far out there, but he truly believed.  There is no greater power in shaping a person’s destiny than their beliefs.  Here are a few of Muhammad Ali’s famous sayings and beliefs about himself:

“I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.”

“It’s hard to be humble when you’re as great as I am.”

“I’m so mean I make medicine sick.”

“I’m not the greatest. I’m the double greatest. Not only do I knock ‘em out, I pick the round. I’m the boldest, the prettiest, the most superior, most scientific, most skill fullest fighter in the ring today.”

“I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and got into bed before the room was dark.”

“What I suffered physically was worth what I’ve accomplished in life. A man who is not courageous enough to take risks will never accomplish anything in life.”

Most people think Muhammad Ali was lucky to be born with such skills.  But what most people didn’t see is all the painful training and emotions he had to overcome: all the struggles, the daily rejection, the betrayals, the criticism, and the conditioning to BELIEVE he was the best…which he ingrained in his nervous system to make his vision a reality.

Muhammad Ali had such strong positive belief in his skills and his ultimate destiny, that it propelled him to show up every day, to work hard every day, to hustle every day, to learn from a proven trainer every day, to continuously improve every day, and he did this even though the pain from the grueling training made him feel like quitting every day.  Because of his Beliefs in himself, his constant Actions he would take and the outstanding Results he achieved…Muhammad Ali eventually became who he is known for today – THE GREATEST BOXER OF ALL TIMES!!!

Anyone who does something magnificent like Muhammad Ali is someone that does it at a standard of outstanding. Achieving this standard doesn’t come from skill; it comes from the heart and having the right mindset.  Having a mindset that will raise the BAR (Beliefs, Actions, Results) higher.  You need to set the BAR for what you won’t tolerate for yourself anymore and raise it to the level of what you MUST achieve…and act like a Gold Medal Performer, like Muhammad Ali who would raise the BAR higher every day to win.

No matter what you do, until someone tells you that you are CRAZY, you are not raising the BAR high enough or working hard enough.  Muhammad Ali was told every day that he was crazy; therefore he must have been on the right path to success.  For any success in life, you need to take all out massive action and be obsessed.  Be on fire every day and don’t let anyone put it out! In doing so you too will become the GREATEST at what you do.  Be a little crazy and go for it!

Do you want to be the greatest at whatever it is that you are passionate about ?
