Overcoming Obstacles in Life – The 4 Big Ones
One of our specialties here at Zaggtime is destroying obstacles. We’re resolved in our course of action and there’s nothing that we will let stand in our way.
We think overcoming obstacles in life is one of the most difficult but also one of the most rewarding things a person can do. Obstacles can be like chokeholds because we think they are trapping us, holding us right where we are and preventing us from accomplishing anything else. But there’s a way to break every chokehold, and today we’re going to look at how to escape a few of the most common ones.
The 4 Big Excuses;
No spare time
There are plenty of tried and true ways to create time. Working from home frees up lots of time. You can make connections or have a quick meeting by using your lunch break wisely. There’s no reason you can’t use a spare half hour in the evening or on the weekend to start building something. If you’re worried about that eating into you
r relaxation time, trust me when I say that working on your own project and getting closer to your real goals can be a lot more relaxing than sitting on the couch and watching a show.
Not enough money
Guaranteed there are places in your budget where you can tighten up and save hundreds of dollars. Cut back on eating out, rein in your entertainment spending. There are $10 bottles of wine that taste just as good as the $30 ones. You’ll soon find yourself back in a place where you can again enjoy these rewards. But the real secret is that it doesn’t actually take a lot of money to pursue your professional dreams. Chances are you’ve already got the tools and the skills you need t
o begin building a meaningful future for yourself. If you have the determination to go for it, the financial means will follow.
No support from family and friends
This can be a tough one because a big part of our motivation to succeed is that we want to share the rewards with the people we care about. So when a loved one or trusted friend starts casting doubts on your plans it can really take the wind out of your sails. You don’t need to ignore every word of caution you’re offered, but you also need to find the people in your life who will offer you the support and encouragement that will get you through tough times. Your friends at Zaggtime are always ready to pump you up and remind you that you’re heading in the right direction.
Fear
A big part of our psychology strategy centers around managing fear, because it can be scary, terrifying even, to follow your dreams. What we try to do is harness that fear and make it work for us instead of against us. Re-examine your situation and change what you’re afraid of. Are you afraid of chasing your dreams, of giving your all while striving to achieve something amazing? Or are you actually afraid of spending the prime of your life working an uninspiring job, and always wondering if you could have done something better? I know which of those scares me the most, and I bet you’re the same. If you can flip that fear around and get it working in your favor, it can be a huge motivating factor in your journey.
The common factor in overcoming obstacles in life is psychology. Mindset is so important to our strategy of business and lifestyle design. If you see an obstacle to your plans and say “There’s no way around this, I’m screwed!” well guess what, you’re never going to find the solution because you already believe there isn’t one. But if you encounter that same obstacle and say “There’s a way to beat this and I’m going to figure it out,” you’re already 80% of the way to the solution.
