Learning how to live your perfect day – every day, starts with writing down what you want, visualizing it with strong emotion, and taking massive action until you live it. Every happy and successful person I know has gone through a personal wake-up call (understand what they really want in life), shaken off chokeholds (fears and limiting beliefs holding them back), and baked up (got fired up with emotion – strong reasons why) to take the action necessary to live the life they love.
You can’t wish your way out of mediocrity. It takes dedicated focus and work. You must write down what you want on paper, visualize it in your mind with fiery emotion, and manifest it by taking action and adjusting your actions until you get what you want. There is a great saying, “Anything your mind can conceive, and your heart can believe, you can achieve.”
Kick-start your heart and become alive involves picking a rock song that gives you passion and courage to jump outside your comfort zone and experience more. We all need a song that motivates us to be our best and sing it every day. Doing so will put you in an emotional and physical state that ensures you make the right decisions and take the actions necessary to design the life and business you love.
It was a few years ago when I first started thinking about a rock song that represented the person I needed to become and the life I wanted to live. I wanted a song that really motivated me and would push me to experience more. I can vividly play that day back in my mind, feeling the relentless and overwhelming need to accelerate my actions to create the income, lifestyle and freedom I wanted.
“I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” – William Ernest Henley, poet, critic and editor
Up your attitude and drive with your why is key to designing the life and business you love. Attitude and a strong reason why will ensure you persist in creating abundance in your life (the income, lifestyle and freedom you want). If you don’t like where you are in life, all you need to do is make the decision to change, then up your attitude (your beliefs about what you can do), take massive action and push for amazing results –never quit. The key to overcoming adversity is to never give up. It’s that simple!
“Being relentless is like water cascading over the edge of a waterfall — consistent, powerful and by design, never ending.” – HOPE CEO, John Hope Bryant.
Learning how to ride the emotional roller-coaster of change is critical to designing the life and business you love. But you must really want to change to hang on for the ride. If you’re not ready and committed to stick to it, you will never survive the emotional force from the exhilarating ups and painful downs of making change and achieving a goal. The emotional roller-coaster of making change cannot be handled by those with impotent goals, a weak desire/reason why,
Making change for yourself, such as achieving an ultimate goal takes time and some dedicated reconditioning of the brain to counteract the strong limiting beliefs of what you can or can’t do. You have to wipe your mind clear and plant positive beliefs to replace your fears. You need to choose to have a beginner’s mind and believe you can do anything.
Is your personal growth bound by golden handcuffs? If so you are giving up becoming the best version of you for a steady paycheck in a job you dislike. Many people never make the escape from employee to entrepreneur because the golden handcuffs (a steady paycheck in a job they dislike) has made them feel comfortable. They bound themselves from experiencing more – because they fear jumping out of their comfort zone to do what it takes to design a life and business they love.
For many years I always felt that my career was meaningful, so I put all my eggs in that one basket. But over time that became a big mistake for my personal growth and development. And over time, that became my number one chokehold preventing me from creating the income, lifestyle and freedom I wanted. My job provided just enough financial resources and benefits to stop me from going out and fully exploring my true potential in business. Hence, the golden handcuffs that kept me chained to my job.
Turn life lemons into lemonade and you will forever design the life you love. Doing it takes patience, persistence and positivity to find new dreams, passion and purpose. In this blog, I share a personal story of my son Shae Howorko, who was destined to live his passion for professional hockey, but one freak accident shattered that dream forever. Shae did come out of his life changing personal crisis, and is now again pursuing a new dream by helping others. The lesson to be learned is that if life gives you lemons, just make lemonade. Don’t give up on finding your purpose and what drives you. If one door shuts, just open another one. If you keep plugging forward and focus on becoming the best version of you, you will eventually turn those life lemons into lemonade. It’s that simple.
The top two sacrifices in building your dream business are critical to designing the life you love. Success requires short term pain for long term gain. If you want to create the income, lifestyle and freedom you want, you must make sacrifices. When you take the jump to build your dream business… in the beginning you will work harder than you ever have. Your life will feel out of balance and a little chaotic. But don’t worry, building a side hustle of your dreams while working full time and looking after your family responsibilities does get easier. Sometimes you have to make a mess to clean up a mess. But believe it does get better.
In today’s blog, the Founders of ZAGGTIME, Doug Howorko and George Tsougrianis, share a few insider tips from their own personal journey on how they harnessed the courage to start designing the business and life they love well into their 40’s! It’s never too late to live the dream!!
Basically, if certain aspects of socializing make you nervous, you have to step outside of your comfort zone and get used to them. That’s ultimately the only way to truly get comfortable with the things that cause anxiety for you.
