Kick-start your heart and become alive

Kick-start your heart and become alive

Kick-start your heart and become alive involves picking a rock song that gives you passion and courage to jump outside your comfort zone and experience more.  We all need a song that motivates us to be our best and sing it every day. Doing so will put you in an emotional and physical state that ensures you make the right decisions and take the actions necessary to design the life and business you love.

It was a few years ago when I first started thinking about a rock song that represented the person I needed to become and the life I wanted to live. I wanted a song that really motivated me and would push me to experience more. I can vividly play that day back in my mind, feeling the relentless and overwhelming need to accelerate my actions to create the income, lifestyle and freedom I wanted.

Making change for yourself, such as achieving an ultimate goal takes time and some dedicated reconditioning of the brain to counteract the strong limiting beliefs of what you can or can’t do. According to survey data from ThermaSoft, for the average North American’s picture of success is about $150,000 in annual income, a spouse, a couple of kids, a ten-minute commute, and a generous amount of vacation time.

In the eyes of the average Joe, I was successful. But deep down, I was unsettled, I was unfulfilled and wanted more abundance. I was grateful for what I had achieved in my career, but I was dying inside. I wanted to wake up with excitement early in the morning, and go to bed late with enthusiasm again. Your purpose in life is to find your purpose

Your purpose in life is to find your purpose

Your purpose in life is to find your purpose. The biggest barrier for people in finding their purpose, their best life, is that they are stuck on autopilot – spinning their wheels in a dead-end job, in a mundane life, and going nowhere fast. Spinning your wheels fast on one spot for too long will get you stuck in a rut you can’t get out of. You lose the ability to know what you want, and the confidence to act even if you did know. In essence, many people fall asleep at the wheel of their own life.

How to beat fear and start your dream business

How to beat fear and start your dream business

How to beat fear and start your dream business is a skill I had to learn when it came to designing the life and business I love. I needed a winning mindset to fight limiting beliefs and the made up fear (false evidence that appears real – drama conjured up in my brain) to stay confident in my escape from employee to freedom-entrepreneur.

Research shows humans’ survival instincts are wired for fear, which is helpful when a lion is chasing you. But that same survival mechanism also prevents you from moving outside your comfort zone – doing what it takes to create the income, lifestyle and freedom you want.

To combat this biological protection mechanism, I had to recondition my brain to beat fear by turning fear on itself. I needed to use fear to my advantage, to motivate me, vs. letting it debilitate me. That’s when great things started to happen.

Use your job to fund your freedom business

How to use your job to fund your freedom business

Learning how to use your job to fund your freedom business is a critical step in creating the income, lifestyle and freedom you want.  It is something we can all learn but it does require some new ways of thinking and developing some leadership skills.

When I got back after slaving for eight hours at the office, the last thing I wanted to do was get out the laptop and start building a business. Despite my desire, I lacked the energy and couldn’t do anything but collapse on the couch for an hour and watch television. Most of us need a couple of ‘me time’ hours to relax and wind down after family commitments and chores are completed before going to bed and getting up to do it all again. Forty hours a week in a job you’re not passionate about will eventually suck the life, hope and innovation right out of you. But don’t worry, there is a way out if you are ready and willing.
