Suffer the Pain of Discipline with No Regrets

Pain is a fact of life. Given the choice would you rather suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret? That’s the focus of this week’s Wake up Wednesday video blog. In this edition, I share some personal experiences of choosing discipline over regret. As a creative person I often associate discipline with a negative stereo type like an old crusty teacher who smacks a ruler on the desk while barking out the homework assignments.

Fortunately, I’ve recently come to appreciate the riggers of discipline as I’ve used it as a tool towards my goal of becoming a film maker that tells transformation stories. About a year and a half I made the conscious decision that I wanted to move in that direction. I didn’t have any idea what I needed to do but I had the power of intention as a guide. One small step at a time things began to reveal themselves , the need for better tools, the need to upgrade my technical skills and most importantly the need to upgrade my mindset.

Zaggtime and especially my partner Doug Howorko was like a god send as he showed me the importance of training my mind for the journey ahead. Just like a professional athlete who trains both their mind and body I too began to realize that I needed to do the same. It’s been an exciting journey thus far full of wonderment and distinctions along the way. I’m much more self aware of who am I today, a storyteller who wants to tell transformational stories and inspire people just like you. I’m even more excited for the future because I want to continue to grow and become better than I was yesterday.
