Zaggtime is the Path for the New Rich

As the founders of Zaggtime we are big fans of Tim Ferris and his book The 4 Hour Workweek. That said, we know many people find actualizing a 4 hour work week hard to relate to.

For most it seems virtually impossible. But the funny thing is that most people want this as a goal in life (more free time). So we definitely recommend checking out his book, but because it can be a little extreme,we want to talk about why Zaggtime is a more accessible path for the New Rich and in becoming Wise, Wild and Free.

Considerations for becoming one of the new rich

Automation and Leveraging Instead of Outsourcing

Tim would outsource tying his shoes if he could, but what we’ve found is that outsourcing too many functions of your routine tasks actually creates headaches because you still end up having to oversee the outsourced processes, as well as deal with inevitable quality issues that will come up. Instead, we suggest taking some time to determine what tasks can be automated? Auto-replies on your email will direct people to take certain actions specified by you.Automated bill-pay functions in online banking will save you time, and you can even set your coffee charge card to auto-restore its balance.

The other essential element here is leverage. Tim seems to do everything himself or delegate to “staff”. At Zaggtime we believe in leveraging the talents of diverse business partnerships. We encourage all of our community members and clients to have multiple business verticals within a portfolio. It is rare however, to start these verticals all alone. After all, wouldn’t you rather have a small slice of several big pies instead of a whole pie to yourself? You’ll not only benefit mentally from a variety of projects to engage with, but diversifying your income makes you more resilient to economic change.

The New Rich don’t have to be Adventurers

Many of us have family obligations,so flying around the world to kickbox, para-glide and eat snake meat as Tim rather forcefully suggests is not our ideal lifestyle. How about just having more time to hang with our kids, or take our significant other on a weekend getaway? The “New Rich” lifestyle that Tim defines is impressive. It’s kind of like how all kids wanted to be archaeologists after watching Indiana Jones, but in reality archaeology is nothing like the Hollywood version. The New Rich lifestyle for the rest of us is perhaps less dazzling, but it is just as liberating.

Achievable Goals

$40,000 per month of passive income seems like way too much for most of us, so when this comes up in The Four Hour Work Week, it’s easy to stop paying attention. Tim makes this kind of business seem effortless (check emails once a week for an hour? As if, my friend!). Zaggtime is about finding one, two, or even three or more passion projects that slowly start to build income so we can be motivated towards bigger and bolder goals. Who knows, maybe $40K is on the horizon. But let’s inch toward that and learn along the way.

Time, not Money, is the Ultimate Measure of Wealth

Ok, so this is exactly what Tim says. But it was Robert Kiyosaki who popularized this concept in his best-selling Rich Dad Poor Dad series. He says that if you can take as much time off of work as you want (without using holiday time, etc.) and your income is not affected, then you are wealthy. What he means is that you have unlimited time to do what you want because your income streams are systematically designed to work without you. Time is the currency of the New Rich, not a large savings account or a mutual fund. The Zaggtime path is less extreme and less risky because we suggest sticking with your day job, carving out free time (Zaggtime) and applying that systematically to create passive income. Stick with us and we can help you get there.
